Dr. Patrick Mullen, Psy.D.

Dr. Patrick Mullen is an expert in the treatment of substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions, with a focus on emerging adulthood, mood and anxiety disorders, and the intersection of psychological and physical health. His clinical work integrates evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness- and values-based behavioral interventions.
Dr. Mullen has extensive experience across the continuum of care—from inpatient and residential treatment to outpatient and community-based recovery support. He has served in clinical leadership roles overseeing multidisciplinary teams and developing innovative, whole-person programs that bridge mental health, substance use, and medical care. His practice emphasizes collaboration, relational depth, and helping clients build a life guided by purpose, stability, and self-compassion.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Mullen is the founder of Mullen Health Strategies, a behavioral health consulting firm advancing integrated care models for employers, health systems, and recovery organizations. He has published and presented on behavioral health economics, integrated primary care, and the role of peer support in long-term recovery outcomes.
Dr. Mullen earned two master's degrees as well as a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he also completed advanced training in health psychology and integrated behavioral health.

Intake Assessment
In your first session, you’ll discuss goals and concerns with your clinician, receive feedback, and determine the best approach for your care.
Psychotherapy
Most sessions are weekly for 50–60 minutes, though some may be longer or twice weekly. Session frequency is tailored to your treatment plan.
