Some of the most important work happens in a room with other people.

Individual therapy is powerful. So is being in a room with others who are working on similar things. Group therapy offers something that individual work cannot: the experience of being witnessed by peers, learning from how others navigate similar challenges, and practicing new ways of being in relationship in real time.

What group therapy looks like

Our groups are structured, clinically led, and built around specific presenting concerns. Depending on what is currently running, groups may focus on:

  • Substance use and recovery
  • Anxiety and stress management
  • Young adult experiences and transitions
  • Caregiver support
  • Skill-building groups drawing from ACT, CBT, and mindfulness-based approaches

Groups are led by doctoral-level clinicians and structured to provide meaningful clinical work in a supportive peer environment.

Why it works

Group therapy gives people two things individual therapy cannot easily provide: normalization and practice. You learn that you are not alone in what you are experiencing, and you get to practice new skills and ways of being in real time, with real feedback.

Dr. Salerno helped give me strength, courage, and a better sense of my self worth. She made me feel cared for and supported. She has truly changed my and my children’s lives for the better!

I was in a tenuous situation. Dr. Mullen got behind me in my corner and egged me on to just put one positive foot in front of the other and find myself on the other side. Currently, two years later and I’m stronger everyday.
